NPC Pro Hospice Training Academy

NPC A Member of InterCement, showed their social commitment to their community by coming forward and donating a printer to the South Coast Hospice Training Academy.

South Coast Hospice Training Academy provides training for other health care professionals, community workers, staff and volunteers. They have received accreditation from the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA) and they have also been appointed as a ‘Centre for Palliative Care Learning’ by the Hospice Palliative Care Association (HPCA).

The printer will become an integral part of the team as now the Training team can print and collate all of their own manuals and bind them in preparation for the courses offered. Courses include HIV Counselling, Introduction to Palliative Care, Bereavement Counselling and Home-based Care courses. The Training Academy is also able to print certificates for all students who graduate from the Academy.

‘We strive for professionalism and consistency and, with the printer donated to us we are able to live up to a high standard of delivery for our students who depend on quality training’ says Dirk van Reenen, Training Co-ordinator.

NPC representatives handed over the HP Laserjet printer to the training team on 10 December, and then invited to sit in briefly on one of the Home-based Care courses which was currently running.

South Coast Hospice would like to thank NPC A Member of InterCement for their valuable contribution to the association and in particular to their Training Academy.
